WOMEN'S SOCCER

Santa Clara 4, Loyola Marymount 0

On a beautiful Senior Day at Buck Shaw Stadium on Sunday, the fifth-ranked Broncos (14-3-2, 4-1-1 WCC) defeated the Lions on two goals from junior forward Tina Estrada and one each from Tiffany Roberts and Meagan Snell. Junior goalkeeper Julie Ryder recorded her eighth shutout of the season, needing to record only one save thanks to stellar defense.

MEN'S SOCCER

Santa Clara 1, Saint Mary's 0

On the road in Moraga, the fourth-ranked Broncos (12-3-1, 6-1-1 WCC) defeated the Gaels on a 35-yard rocket from senior Jeff Scott at 76:21. WCC Player of the Week Kevin Sweeney recorded the shutout by blocking seven saves. The regular-season home schedule will finish on Sunday with a match against Loyola Marymount.

VOLLEYBALL

Santa Clara 3, Pepperdine 0

The now 11th-ranked Broncos kept their West Coast Conference record perfect by sweeping the Waves 30-25, 30-26 and 31-29. On her way to being named WCC Co-Player of the Week, freshman Brittany Lowe buried 19 kills to accompany 11 digs. Senior outside hitter Cassie Perret joined in on the fun with 13 kills, nine digs and three blocks. The middle blocking tandem of sophomores Anna Cmaylo and Annalisa Muratore combined for 15 kills and 11 blocks. Lowe ended the match with an ace after Perret sent a kill down the line.

Santa Clara 3, Loyola Marymount 1

Playing their second home game in two nights, the Broncos (20-1, 9-0 WCC) beat the Lions 30-28, 31-29, 27-30 and 30-16. Junior outside hitter Kim McGiven finished the night with 21 kills and 12 digs. Junior middle blocker Megan Pura had a match-high eight blocks while sophomore libero Caroline Walters had 17 digs. The Broncos came storming back after losing the third game to win by 14 points in the final game. They need to win their last five conference games to go undefeated in WCC play for the first time.

MEN'S WATER POLO

BYU-Hawaii 9, Santa Clara 5

The No. 17 Broncos were led by Charlie Moore who scored three goals. Jack Wall and Patrick Noack also got a goal apiece, but it still wasn't enough to defeat their conference opponent.

Air Force 4, Santa Clara 3

Utility Jack Wall managed to net two goals in the losing effort. Goalie Mike Petersen recorded five blocks, a steal and an assist.

Cal Baptist 8, Santa Clara 7

Even with freshman Tom Hendrickson's game-tying goal with two seconds remaining in the game, the Broncos lost the match in sudden-death overtime, their third loss in a row at the Davis Shootout.
