Papenfus played for the first time since brain surgery in October against Brigham Young University.

How did it feel to get back on the court?

It was such a freeing experience to just run up and down the court wearing a Santa Clara jersey.

Did you ever doubt that you’d get back out there after the surgery?

In a sense I did just because of the severity of my surgery, but I have always had a feeling that I was going to beat this thing and play again so that helped keep the doubt out of my mind.
