Santa Clara 0, San Francisco 0
In their first tie of the season, the Broncos battled the Dons for 110 minutes with the end result a draw. Two close goals for the Broncos were cancelled out by offsides calls from officials.

Only two days later, Santa Clara won a decisive shutout against the Dons at Buck Shaw Stadium. Seven minutes in, freshman defender Aaron Clubb scored after receiving a pass from senior forward Kelechi Igwe in the penalty box. Igwe tallied two additional assists as he helped fellow teammates Hector Guzman and Jide Ogunbyi find the net in the 21st and 36th minutes respectively.

Portland 3, Santa Clara 1
In a bitter rivalry game versus the second-ranked Pilots, the Broncos dropped their first match of West Coast Conference competition. Most troubling for Santa Clara was the play of Canadian national team forward Christine Sinclair who tallied two goals against Bronco keeper Julie Ryder in the 35th and 53rd minutes. Sinclair has compiled an amazing total of 29 goals this season. The lone Santa Clara score came at the 45th minute when junior midfielder Tiffany Roberts banked a header in to tie the game just before the half.
Santa Clara 0, Gonzaga 0
Neither team was able to capitalize on mistakes as both schools showcased their powerful defenses before finishing the game scoreless. Sunday's game was the first time ever, in 12 meetings, that Santa Clara did not register a win over Gonzaga.
VOLLEYBALL
Santa Clara 3, San Francisco 1
Playing at USF, the Broncos defeated the Dons while hitting .355 with five players above .300. Sophomore Anna Cmaylo and freshman Brittany Lowe had three blocks on the night. Junior outside hitter Kim McGiven had a match high 22 kills while senior hitter Cassie Perret had an outstanding .526 hitting percentage.
Santa Clara 3, Saint Mary's 0
With a definitive sweep of the Gaels, Santa Clara moved to 7-0 in the West Coast Conference and 18-1 overall. Sophomore Anna Cmaylo and senior Cassie Perret both rallied for 11 kills and hit .474 to support their teammates' efforts. The volleyball team is now currently ranked No. 12 in the nation.
MEN'S WATER POLO
UC Davis 6, Santa Clara 4
Riding high after knocking off other higher-ranked teams this season, the Broncos traveled to Davis to take on the No. 10 Aggies. Sophomore utility Chris Parolin scored twice while fellow sophomores Tommy Kelly and Mike Detoy both added a goal each. Redshirt junior keeper Mike Petersen had 13 saves and a steal.
