Director hosts free screening of award-winning film
A free screening of "The Heart of the Game," an award-winning documentary about the passion and energy of a Seattle high school girls' basketball team, will be offered next Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in the Arts & Sciences television studio.
First released in 2005, the documentary received high audience and critical acclaim at the Toronto International Film Festival and has since won numerous awards.
Director Ward Serrill will be attending the screening and will hold a question and answer session after the film.

Pandora CEO first guest in CIE Speaker Series
Tim Westergren, founder of one of the most popular radio service Web sites, comes to Santa Clara Oct. 9 to speak to the university community about the success of his company, Pandora, and his highly publicized battle with the recording industry.
Pandora is a Web site that uses the Music Genome Project to offer users personalized radio stations. Westergren founded Pandora seven years ago, and its popularity has been growing steadily ever since. Pandora ranks high in demand among its Internet audience, with roughly seven million users at the end of June, according to The New York Times.
The event, held at 6 p.m. in the Recital Hall, is hosted by the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Drinks and appetizers will be served, and the CIE Speaker Series is free to all Santa Clara students, faculty, staff and alumni.
