Alarm
Jan. 5: A student burned pizza in an electric pizza oven in the second floor lounge of Graham Residence Hall, causing a fire alarm to activate. The oven was moved to the kitchen and the lounge was aired out.
Alcohol Related Medical Emergency
Jan. 8: A campus resident was reported intoxicated in front of St. Joseph’s Hall. CSS and SCU EMS responded. The resident was allowed to return to his residence hall Against Medical Advice. SCU EMS later requested that SCFD check on the student. The student was again released on AMA.
Jan. 10: A campus resident was reported intoxicated after drinking four shots of vodka at an off-campus party. SCU EMS evaluated him and allowed him to remain in his room, monitored by a friend.
Hit and Run Non-Injury Accident
Jan. 9: A passing van struck a pole at the corner of the Alameda and Market Streets, displacing a Santa Clara map and decorative building signage.
Medical Emergency
Jan. 4: A student injured his knee while playing soccer on Bellomy Field. The student walked over to Cowell Health Center. SCU EMS gave the student first aid.
Jan. 7: A student injured his shoulder during a boxing class at Pat Malley Fitness Center. CSS and SCU EMS responded and advised the student to seek further medical treatment at a hospital.
Jan. 9: A campus resident requested medical assistance for an injured ankle that he sustained while skateboarding. CSS responded and gave the student first aid and crutches.
Jan. 9: A campus resident requested medical assistance for a head injury that he sustained while ice-skating at an off-campus location. SCU EMS assisted the student and advised him to visit a hospital for further medical assistance.
Trespassing
Jan. 5: CSS responded to Lucas Hall on a report that there was a non-affiliate in the building disturbing students. CSS found the non-affiliate next to The Hut in need of medical attention. SCPD and SCFD responded. The non-affiliate was given a trespass warning and an ambulance transported him to a hospital.
Jan. 9: Two male students were observed jumping over the facilities yard fence by the Casa Italiana Residence Hall parking lot in the middle of the night. They fled the area upon noticing a CSS officer’s arrival. CSS detained and questioned both students since they were uncooperative.
Vandalism
Jan. 7: A Jaguar symbol was reportedly removed from a vehicle that was parked in the Dunne Residence Hall parking lot.
Jan. 9: Graffiti was found on a pillar on the first floor of the Main Parking Structure.
Jan. 9: CSS found a vandalized toilet paper dispenser in the first floor men’s restroom in Benson Memorial Center. CSS completed a work order for the damage.
