Corrections

* An op-ed piece last week on a tribal gambling proposition incorrectly stated the date of the election. It is Nov. 2.

* An information box in the Oct. 14 issue incorrectly stated the target completion date of the new library's ARS. The correct date is Dec. 2004.

* A story on the reappointment of University President Paul Locatelli, S.J., last week omitted part of a quote from his executive assistant, Jim Briggs. While the story stated that Briggs could not factually say how several of the absent Board of Trustee members would have voted, it omitted that he believed all would have still OK'd a fourth term.

* A story last week in scene incorrectly spelled a division of the U.S. Armed Forces. It should have stated the Marine Corps.

* A sports story last week incorrectly identified SAAC as the Student Academic Athletic Committee. Instead, the abbreviation stands for Student-Athlete Advisory Council.

The Santa Clara is concerned about the accuracy of its stories. If you see an error, please e-mail editor@thesantaclara.com or call (408) 554-4849.
