Mother's Day

[dropcap]E[/dropcap]very single Mother’s Day growing up, I would ask my mom, “Why isn’t there such a thing as Kid’s Day?” And she would always reply, “Every day is Kid’s Day.”
Next to garbage collectors, janitors and farmers, mothers are the most underappreciated members of society. Pregnancy and breastfeeding are torturous enough in their own right, but tack on a nine to five, cooking dinner, doing the dishes and putting us to bed each night for years and years and you’ve got the hardest job known to (wo)man. In gratitude, we as a society have deemed one day per year to be enough to honor these wonderful women. It’s tragically insufficient, but to make the most of this day, I offer a few suggestions.
