Photo Essay: The Tide of Isolation

Days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months. February marks the eleventh month since our campus first locked down in response to the worrying global pandemic. Since then, a lot has changed. Classes went virtual and Sweet Tomatoes went out of business. As our voices online grew louder, our presence in person shrank. As time marched forward, we began spending more time alone.

While isolation came quickly and unexpectedly, it hasn’t been all bad. For many, this was an opportunity to take a beat. We began baking, learning, and video calling. Though physically alone, we found ways to stay connected. Not only with others, but with ourselves and our surroundings. As the vaccine begins to roll out, it's important to take a moment to look back and think about not just the challenges we have overcome, but the ways we have grown. Here’s to a year defined by our resilience and optimism.
