Sports Question of the Week

Who won the NBA trade deadline?

Toronto Raptors - Andrew SlapThe easy answer is the New Orleans Pelicans after they robbed the Sacramento Kings of DeMarcus Cousins. Cousins has his issues, but it’s never a mistake to add a player of his caliber to coincide with Anthony Davis. The Boogie deal grabs all the headlines, but the Toronto Raptors are the real winners after they drastically improved their chances to reach the Finals. Toronto added Serge Ibaka and P.J. Tucker to an already strong team built around Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan. For years, the Raptors lacked a serviceable power forward to go along with Jonas Valanciunas, so Ibaka’s presence will immediately go noticed. Ibaka should be reinvigorated now that he’s back in championship contention; he’ll spread the floor with his three-point shooting and can hold down Toronto’s defense. Last year, the Raptors took the Cavaliers to six games in the Eastern Conference Finals and this spring they may finally dethrone King James.
