"This Is It" for Michael Jackson
I have a confession to make. I have always been a Michael Jackson fan.

It was another record-setting weekend for the Santa Clara men's and women's cross country teams at the West Coast Conference Championships in Belmont.
Halloween update: Waldo found!
I'm a guy who takes Halloween entirely too seriously. I worked on my Hellboy costume for more than a month and I wore it for more than a night. I still can't get some of it to come off. I was also a too-nude Spartan two years ago and was White Gold from the milk commercials last year, making my own costume for each of the last five years. As an enthusiast and as a writer, I took note of some of my favorite costumes and some of the more common costumes, in hopes that I might encourage more people to really work on next year's outfits.
He's much to our like-Engh
Little known fact: University President Father Engh, S.J., is not a coffee person.
Weezer album forgettable, lacks depth

Halloween casts a sunset spell on santa clara
Halloween's sunset marked the beginning of what was a long night for students disguised as superheroes, rock stars, garden gnomes and other fictitious characters. Other students, including the Bronco Band, began their Halloween a day early by dressing up for the Women's Volleyball game at Leavey Center last Friday.
Hip-hop does not equal the ghetto
Theme parties can be fun, and I am in no way against them. However, when theme parties associated with a particular race are held, they become offensive. How these parties become offensive should be better understood. The Alpha Phi sorority's "Notorious P.H.I." party was a clever idea but, though I believe that the intent of this party was not malicious, the thoughts associated with the party are offensive for the following reasons:
Arrests up, complaints down
The next time you leave a party and carelessly toss aside a red cup, remember that it could be littering somebody else's lawn.
Off the court with the coach
Santa Clara men's basketball Head Coach Kerry Keating sat down with The Santa Clara to discuss his outlook on his 2009-2010 team:
Our corrupt Congress
We have nothing but to look at one another and shake our heads as we realize this grim prediction of Nietzsche's has emblazoned itself within the dark chapters of our government's history: "In all institutions from which the cold wind of open criticism is excluded, an innocent corruption begins to grow like a mushroomà -- for example, in senates and learned societies."
UCSB does it big for Halloween
The ground was littered with red cups, beer cans and pieces of costume that had been left behind by the over 60,000 people that were walking the streets.
Silence in St. Clare broken by open forum
The Saint Clare Room was packed beyond capacity Wednesday night for a school-wide forum to discuss diversity at Santa Clara.
Letting go is not throwing away
When I was in middle school, my mother would send me to Buddhist temple camps for a few weeks every summer. Although she was not very religious, she thought I needed some exposure to Buddhism. Her strategy did not work. I twisted myself away from religion for the first three years of my high school career.
Women's soccer falls in stalemate vs. No. 2 Portland, 1-0
The Santa Clara women's soccer team had an opportunity to take control of the West Coast Conference this past Sunday when they faced off with the No. 2 Portland Pilots. Unfortunately for Head Coach Jerry Smith's squad, a third minute goal for the Pilots was the lone tally registered at Buck Shaw Stadium, with Portland squeezing by the Broncos 1-0.
