THE SANTA CLARAFebruary 16, 2017Drunk in Public Feb. 8: A non-affiliate male was intoxicated in Swig Residence Hall and causing a disturbance. Campus Safety and SCPD responded. He was taken into custody for being drunk in public and resisting arrest. Found Property Feb. 10: An unknown vehicle struck the disabled parking sign pole in the “B” area of the Benson Memorial Center parking lot. A work order was submitted to have it repaired. Feb. 13: A calculator was found in Vari Hall. The item is being held at Campus Safety Services for safekeeping. Informational Report Feb. 11: SCPD dispersed a keg party in progress at a neighborhood unit located at 590 Lafayette St. The next-door neighbor reported that the students at 590 Lafayette St. were urinating through the fence onto his vehicle. The students washed the neighbor’s driveway. Feb. 12: An offensive sticker was found posted on the back of a city street sign on Market Street. The sticker was removed and documented. Feb. 13: A student reported that her vehicle’s left fender was damaged by another vehicle while it was parked in the Main Parking Structure. The other vehicle left the area without leaving a note. Campus Safety responded to document the incident. Intrusion Alarm Feb. 11: Staff reported that an unknown male entered the mailroom at the Facilities Building. Surveillance video showed a male in a yellow traffic vest and baseball cap borrow a mail cart and return it. Facilities was notified of the incident. Medical Emergency Feb. 8: A campus resident injured her thumb. SCU EMS evaluated and released her. Feb. 9: A campus staff member injured his hand while cooking in Nobili Hall. SCU EMS evaluated and released him. Campus Safety gave him a courtesy ride to the hospital. Theft Feb. 10: A bicycle was stolen from the south bicycle rack of the Edward M. Dowd Art and Art History Building. SCPD arrested the suspect at a later time. Feb. 12: A non-affiliate reported that someone took his iPad from his unattended bag in O’Connor Hall room 209 while he was away at lunch. Feb. 12: A student reported that someone took his iPhone 5, SCU ACCESS card and keys from his unattended desk in O’Connor Hall room 209 while he was away at lunch. Trespassing Feb. 11: Campus Safety and SCPD responded to Park Avenue to check on non-affiliates trying to gain entry through the gate. SCPD gave a non-affiliate male a trespass warning.
