THE SANTA CLARAJanuary 26, 2017Found Property Jan. 20: A Verizon Wireless charging pad was found and turned in to the Campus Safety office. Jan. 22: A vinyl lamp post banner was found in the O’Connor Parking lot and turned in to the Campus Safety office. Jan. 23: An LG cellphone was found and turned in to the Campus Safety office. Informational Report Jan. 18: Two trees fell on the northeast part of Accolti Mall. Campus Safety responded to barricade the area. Jan. 22: Suspicious, offensive flyers were found posted in Kenna Hall. They were removed and documented. Jan. 23: A campus resident was reportedly behaving in an unusual manner. Campus Safety responded to investigate but was unable to locate him. The investigation is ongoing. Medical Emergency Jan. 20: A Bon Appétit staff member lost consciousness in Benson Memorial Center. Campus Safety and SCFD responded. She refused transportation to a hospital. Jan. 21: A male student fell and hit his head on a chair in Benson Memorial Center and was escorted back to his campus residence room by two students. Campus Safety, SCU EMS and SCFD responded to his room. A friend transported him to O’Connor Hospital. Jan. 24: A student injured her toe while playing on a skateboard barefoot. SCU EMS assisted her. Jan. 24: A student injured his shoulder while lifting weights in the Malley Fitness Center. SCU EMS assisted him. Jan. 24: A campus resident reported having an allergic reaction to soy. SCU EMS assisted her. A friend transported her to O’Connor Hospital. Motor Vehicle Theft Jan. 20: A suspicious car was observed parked at the back of the Schott Admission and Enrollment Services parking lot, unlocked and with a knife in the ignition. SCPD was contacted to investigate. They determined it was a stolen vehicle. Student Behavior Jan. 18: A male student was reported to be stalking a female student. Campus Safety advised her to obtain a protective order against him. The situation was documented for further action. Jan. 22: Two students were smoking vape pens in the Harrington Learning Commons. A Campus Safety officer admonished them for smoking inside of the building and documented them. Vandalism Jan. 21: A campus resident reportedly removed and damaged the window screen in his room. A work order was completed for repair. Jan. 21: An unknown person kicked in the first floor ADA door at Benson Memorial Center. From Campus Safety reports. Email news@thesantaclara.org.
