Sports Question of the Week

Who’s the Best Coach in College Football?

James Franklin (Penn State) - Bo Kendall: The job that James Franklin’s done in the past three years is nothing but remarkable. Franklin’s helped turn around a Penn State program that essentially got the death sentence after the Jerry Sandusky disaster, starting to restore the Nittany Lions’ reputation despite a lack of scholarships. Franklin’s may not have a championship to his name, but he’s made the most of the reduced talent around him. College football is so much better when programs like Penn State play well, and Coach Franklin has the Nittany Lions destined for the college football playoff in the next few years. Jim Harbaugh (Michigan) - Andrew Slap: It’s no surprise that Jim Harbaugh’s achieving almost instant success on his return to college football. Harbaugh inherited a 5-7 team from Brady Hoke and in just two short years he had Michigan one game away from the College Football Playoff. In that span Michigan’s gone 20-6, and that record will get even better as Harbaugh’s recruiting classes continue to develop. It won’t be long before Harbaugh brings a national championship back to his alma mater. Michigan will remain among the elite college football programs as long as Harbaugh remains, but don’t be surprised if he jumps back to the NFL to add a Super Bowl to his legacy
