Sports Question of the Week

Which city is the best sports town?

Boston, Massachusetts - Kevin Seng There’s no better city to be a fan in than Boston. During the Super Bowl, NBC ran a graphic of total championships between Boston and Atlanta, which was 37 to one. And as evidenced by the second half of Super Bowl LI, the New England Patriots are far from being out of contention. Tom Brady continues to defy Father Time and is playing as good as ever. The Boston Celtics struck the gold mine when they got all those first round picks from the Brooklyn Nets in the Paul Pierce/Kevin Garnett trade. The Celtics have the chance of getting Markelle Fultz or Lonzo Ball and already have a star in Isaiah Thomas. The Red Sox have a bright future with the addition of Chris Sale and the abundant amount of young talent, such as Mookie Betts and Xander Bogaerts. New York City might have the most championships, but if we look at not only past history but also the future, Boston is the city of champions.Boston, Massachusetts - Andrew SlapSure the weather’s bad, but Boston’s clearly the best sports town in America. The Patriots and Red Sox will remain perennial favorites for the near future and the Celtics are improving each year under Stevens. The Bruins are struggling, but at least they’re taking the correct steps in fixing the problem, starting with firing Claude Julien. Boston ranks second in total championships with 37; New York is first at 52. But Boston has just four teams contributing to this tally while New York has eight.
