Strong Arm Robbery Reported on Campus

Santa Clara Campus Safety and SCPD are currently investigating the robbery. “If you are off-campus stay away from the campus at this time,” a March 7 Santa Clara press release stated.A strong arm robbery occurs when an assailant uses or threatens to use their hands, arms, feet, teeth or fists to seal a victim’s possessions.The first suspect is a white male with blonde hair and a stocky build, and is suspected to be in his twenties. The press release did not include any identifying characteristics about the second suspect, who drove the vehicle.The car is an white four door and is possibly an older Volkswagen model, according to the press release. The vehicle appeared to have a small black strip that is two inches wide running down its side. It has California plates with license plate number CA6UTR004.The press release advises the university community to call 911 if they see the suspect or the vehicle.“We are cautioning the campus community to be careful,” the press release stated. “If you need to be out stay in groups. If you see anything suspicious please call SCPD 911 or Campus Safety (408) 554-4444.”According to another university press release sent out at 7:31 p.m. on March 7, SCPD AND SJPD responded to the scene.
